3rd: 20/03/10 09:58 Pwllheli ALB was launched to assist 3 Persons onboard a 32ft sailingboat. The vessel suffered damage to its mast due to the high winds. The ALB set up the tow and began to bring the vessel back to Pwllheli. As the tow got underway it was discovered the sailing vessel was taking on water. Due to the sea conditions it was decided to call Abersoch Lifeboat to transfer a salvage pump onboard the vessel. Two for Abersoch's crew stayed onboard the yacht as it was towed back to Pwllheli Marina where the vessel was lifted out. Wind force 5-6 N Duration 4hrs
4th: 14/04/10 08:15 Both ALB and ILB launched to search for possible missing person. A 10ft Kayak was found adrift some 4 miles south east of Pwllheli by a fishing vessel. Holyhead CG requested both boats search for a possible person that could of been onboard. After 1hr it was also decided to launch Abersoch Lifeboat as well. A large area of sea was covered and nothing found after four hrs so all boats where stood down. It was later found the Kayak had been set adrift in Both Y Gest and no presons where onboard. 5th: 15/04/10 21:53 The ALB was launched to assist the fishing vessel Bon Accord for the 2nd time this year. She had suffered with engine failure some 20 miles South West of Pwllheli. Another vessel had gone to assist but the Lifeboat was needed to take over the tow. Both boats entered Pwllheli at 01:45 and the 3 crew onboard where safe and well. Duration 5hrs Wind 3-4 SE
6th 04/05/10 16.04 Pwllheli ALB launched to assist a 17ft speedboat with 3 persons onboard. The vessel had engine failure and was some 2 miles south of Pen Y Chain. The vessel was towed to Pwllheli and all 3 people where safe and well. Duration 1.5hrs Wind 3-4 N
7th 20/05/10 15:39 Pwllheli ALB was launched to assist a 32ft yacht which had run out of fuel. The vessel was some 20 miles south of Pwllheli. Once located a crew member was put on board to assist the single handed sailor with setting up the tow. After a long 4hr and very foggy tow back to Pwllheli the vessel was berthed at Pwllheli Marina safe and well. Duration 6hrs Wind 1-2 SSW
8th 24/05/10 12:01 Pwllheli ALB was launched to assist 5 Persons onboard a 26ft powerboat. The vessel suffered engine failure and was taking on water. Abersoch Lifeboat was also launched as the casualty was not sure of its location. Abersoch crew found the vessel some 0.5 miles south of St Tudwals islands. The ALB was soon on scene and set up a tow and began to bring the vessel back to Pwllheli. As the vessel wasn't taking as much water as was 1st thought Abersoch lifeboat returned to station and the vessel was towed back to Pwllheli Marina where the was lifted out. 9th 31/05/10 13:04 Pwllheli ALB was launched to assist 2 Persons onboard a 26ft powerboat. The vessel suffered engine failure. Abersoch Lifeboat was also launched to the casualty. The Abersoch crew towed the vessel but as they where leaving their area it was decided to launch Pwllheli to tow the vessel back to the Marina. Once the tow was set up Abersoch Lifeboat left the scene and returned to station. The ALB entered the harbour where the casualty was berthed at the Marina. Wind 2-3 SW Duration 2hrs
10th 08/06/10 23:20 Pwllheli ALB was launched to assist 1 Persons onboard a 28ft yacht in the area of Bardsey island. The vessel suffered engine failure and due to the lack of wind and poor tides required a tow. Abersoch Lifeboat was also launched to the casualty. The Abersoch crew towed the vessel for some 4 miles before the ALB arrived. Once the tow was set up Abersoch Lifeboat left the scene and returned to station. The ALB entered the harbour where the casualty was berthed at the Marina at 02:05. Wind 1-2 NW Duration 3.5hrs
11th 19/06/10 18:34 Pwllheli ALB was requested to assist a 14mtr Catamaran with 2 persons on board some 10 mile south west off Bardsey Island. The vessel had suffered an engine fire and therefore RAF Rescue 122 Helicopter was also tasked. The ALB arrived alongside at 20:05 and as the casualty was making 8knots on one engine it was decided to escort them back to Pwllheli, rescue 122 was stood down and returned to station. Both boats arrived safely at Pwllheli Marina at 22:30. Wind 3-4 NW Duration 5 hrs
12th 28/06/10 22:06 Pwllheli ALB was launched to the sightings of red flares 1 mile south of Gimblet rock. On launching with vis and choppy seas the ALB saw another flare and made full speed to the casualty. A 36ft sailing yacht was located with two crew onboard. The vessel had suffered engine failure and had their anchor rope around the propellor. A tow was established and the vessel was bought back to Pwllheli Marina. Wind 5-6 SW Duration 2hrs
13th 03/07/10 14:32 Whilst on exercise Pwllheli ILB was needed to assist a 35ft yacht with engine failure. The vessel with two persons onboard was some 500 yards off the entrance of Pwllheli Harbour. Due to the size of the vessel and strong wind it was decided to launch the ALB to take over the tow. The ALB launched and bought the vessel safe and well into Pwllheli Marina. Duration 1hr SSW 3-4
14th 09/07/10 09:16 Pwllheli ALB was launched to assist two persons onboard a 43ft yacht with engine failure. The ALB made their way 7 miles south of Pwllheli and was soon with the casualty. It was decided to escort rather than tow the vessel until they got closer to Pwllheli. A tow was later passed and both vessels entered the harbour where the casualty was berth in the Marina. 15th 11/07/10 09:56 Both Pwllheli and Abersoch lifeboats were launched on Sunday morning after the 41 foot yacht Opposition started taking in water nine miles south west of Pwllheli while on passage to Cowes on the Isle of Wight . Four persons were on board. With a heavy swell running, the Abersoch lifeboat managed to transfer a pump from the Pwllheli all weather lifeboat to the wooden yacht which had around three foot of water in its hull. A helicopter from the Search and Rescue 122 squadron also stood by. It was soon apparent the salvage pump would need more fuel so Pwllheli ILB launched with spare cans of diesel to take to the pump.The four crew members could not find where the water was entering the boat because of the amount of water, but after the pump was put on board it was discovered that a through-hull fitting had failed and a plug was placed to stem the leakage. The vessel was then towed to Pwllheli marina by the ALB entered the harbour and berthed at Pwllheli marina. Duration 3.5hrs Wind SW 3-4
16th 24/07/10 16:30 Pwllheli ALB was launched to assist a 36ft yacht with two persons onboard. The vessels rudder had become damaged and the crew lost all steerage. The Lifeboat came alongside only 500 yards from the Abererch beach and rigged up a tow. Without the assistance of the ALB the vessel would have been washed up on the beach. Both boats made there way back to Pwllheli where the yacht was berthed. Duration 1.5hrs Wind 4-5 SSW
17th 31/07/10 10:11pm Pwllheli ALB launched after a report that a distress signal had been sighted in Tremadog bay. A search was carried out between Pwllheli harbour entrance and Shell Island but nothing was found and the search was called off. Duration 2hrs Wind SW 1-2
18th 01/08/10 12.15pm ALB launched to assist a 30ft yacht which was having problems with its keel centreboard. The Pwllheli RNLI lifeboat took over the tow from Criccieth inshore lifeboat at Penychain and towed it into Pwllheli marina. The Criccieth RNLI lifeboat had towed the sailing vessel, which had one person on board from Shell Island. Duration 2hrs Wind SW 2-3
19th 01/08/10 At 02:52pm Pwllheli volunteer lifeboat crew were called out again soon before on Sunday to assist a 25ft speed boat which had suffered engine failure. The tow was taken over from the Abersoch inshore lifeboat in St Tudwal's Roads and the vessel was towed to Pwllheli marina. Duration 1.5hrs Wind SW 2-3
20th 21/08/10 14:38 Whilst on exercise both boats where called to assist a 30ft ketch yacht with 3 persons onboard. The ILB had just completed its exercise and entering the harbour when a member of public called the crew over and asked if they could help her family who was aboard a yacht which was trying to make its way in with engine failure. The ILB crew went back out and located the vessel 1 mile south of the entrance. As the yacht weighed 7.5 tons and the ALB was close by it was decided the ALB would tow the vessel in. A crew member was put on the casualty vessel to assist with pulling the sails down and rigging a tow from the ALB. Both vessels entered the harbour and the casualty was berthed at Pwllheli Marina. 21st 21/08/10 14:58 As the ALB had finished assiting the previous casualty the crew noticed a 18ft speedboat with one person onboard in the harbour channel. The vessel had broken down and was being blown onto the seawall. The crew quickly passed a tow over and pulled the boat clear. The ALB then towed the vessel back to the Marina where it was lifted out of the water. Duration 10min Wind SW 2-3
22nd 29/08/10 18:13 Both boats launched to reports from a vessel at sea of another boat in distress. It was decided to launch both ALB and ILB as it was unclear of the nature of the service. On launching the ILB made its was to the 1st informant to collect more information whilst the ALB continued out to the only vessel in the area. The ALB came alongside the vessel with two persons onboard, the engine had failed and the vessel was being blown out to sea in the strong northerly wind. One person was taken aboard the Lifeboat as she was suffering from cold. The ALB rigged a tow and bought the vessel back safe to Pwllheli. Duration 1hr Wind 3-4 NNW
23rd 01/09/10 13:08 Pwllheli ALB was launched to take over the tow from Abersoch Lifeboat of a 28ft Powerboat with 3 persons onboard. The vessel had hit an object and lost all drive near Bardsey Island. The tow was transferred without incident and Abersoch Lifeboat returned to station. The ALB continued to tow the vessel to Pwllheli and entered the harbour at 16:50 where the vessel was berthed. Excellent team work and corporation between Abersoch and Pwllheli Lifeboats resulted a job well done. Duration 4hrs Wind 0-1 N

1st: 13/02/10 00:30 The ILB was launched to locate 1 Male thought to be missing in Pwllheli Harbour. Due to the nature of the incident it was decided to take a Police Officer on the ILB. The person was located safe aboard his boat and the ILB returned to station. Wind force 1 N Duration 30min.
2nd: 04/04/10 15:49 ILB was launched to assist two persons aboard a 5mtr RIB with engine failure, it was thought they where close to the rocks off Llanbedrog. On arrival it the vessel was found on the beach and both persons where safe and well. As the vessel was close to the waters edge the ILB crew and Coastguard pushed the vessel into the water, the ILB then towed it clear. The casualty managed to re start the engine and both vessels returned to station. Wind SW 3-4 Duration 1.5hrs

4th: 16/04/10 17:50 ILB was launched to take over a tow from Criccieth Lifeboat. The casualty vessel had suffered damage in Criccieth and due to the low water it was decided to tow the vessel to Pwllheli. As Criccieth Lifeboat was going to be away from station for quite some time it was decided Pwllheli ILB would tow the vessel to Pwllheli and let Criccieth Lifeboat return to station. The vessel and its 1 occupant was berthed safely at Pwllheli Marina. Duration 1hr Wind SW 2-3
5th: 22/05/10 15:22 The ILB was launched to assist a person in the water off Abererch beach. As the ILB left the harbour the person had managed to exit the water safe and well. The ILB returned to station. Duration 30min SW 1-2
6th 10/06/10 15:01 ILB launched to tow in a 16ft fishing dory which had broken down off the West end, Pwllheli. The casualty was towed back to Pwllheli and was lifted out of the water. Duration 1hr Wind NE 4-5

8th 03/07/10 18:15 Pwllheli ILB was launched for the 2nd time today. A 20ft speedboat with 2 POB had broken down and was being washed up in the surf off Abererch beach. The two persons had entered the water and where trying to prevent the vessel from being damaged. The ILB established a tow and bought the vessel and both persons back the the safety of the harbour. 9th 10/07/10 22:09 Pwllheli ILB was launched to reports of a woman who had entered the sea with suicidal tendencies. Coastguard, Police and Rescue 122 helicopter was also tasked to assist. The ILB was on scene within 5 min and began searching along the Pwllheli beach front in choppy seas and poor visability. R-122 was on scene 10 min later and began a sweeping search. A througher 1 hour search was performed and nothing was found. It was later discovered the possible missing person had been found and was arrested. Duration 1.5hrs NW 4-5
10th 11/07/10 Pwllheli ILB was requested to launch to assist the ALB in the pumping of water from a sinking yacht. The ILB was soon alongside to assist with the rescue. Once underway the ILB stayed with the casualty incase they where needed again. Duration 1hr SW 2-3
11th 14/07/10 Pwllheli ILB launched to reports of 2 children missing off Pen Y Chain. They had gone to sea in a small inflatable which was found washed up on the beach but no sign off the Children. The ILB searched the area and Coastguard teams searched the beach. Both children where found safe and well on the shore and the ILB stood down and returned to station. Duration 1hr SSW 3-4
12th 17/07/10 00:10 The ILB was launched to search for a person in the water in the Marina. On arrival just 4 minuets after being paged the ILB crew discovered the man had been pulled out of the water by the Marina's nightwatchman and passers by. At that time he wasnt breathing so CPR was given by the people who pulled him out. The crew assessed the casualty's condition and administered Oxygen and monitored his vitals whilst waiting for Paramedics to arrive, Local Coastguard and Police arrived some 5 minutes later. Once Paramedics arrived the casualty's situation was assessed and it was decided to put RAF helicopter 122 on standby as he may need airlifting to hospital. Once he was put on the stretcher and transferred to the Ambulance, it was decided to take him to Bangor Hospital by road. All units where stood down the the ILB returned to station. The casualty is still in Hospital in a comfortable condition. Duration 1 hr Wind SSW 1-2

2nd 11/04/09 Pwllheli ALB launched to a 35ft yacht with 2 persons onboard had picked up a rope in its propellor. The ALB came alongside and the crew managed to assist the owner in clearing the rope. The Yacht under its own power was escorted back to Pwllheli Marina. Wind 2-3 SSW Duration 1hr

4th 06/06/09 17:43 Pwllheli ALB was launched to assist 2 persons onboard their 8mtr sailing vessel. They had anchored in Llanbedrog bay but due to the strong easterly wind they could not get a good hold to the sea bed. The engine had also failed so the ALB was requested to tow the vessel back to Pwllheli. Wind 5-6 E Duration 2hrs
5th 08/06/09 08:17 Pwllheli ALB was launched to a 38ft Bavaria yacht which was under tow from Porthdinllaen Lifeboat. Pwllheli was requested to take over towing from PY and take the vessel to Pwllheli Marina. On arrival at Bardsey sound Pwllheli Lifeboat took over the tow and as Porthdinllaen where heading home they where then requested to assist another vessel 10 miles north of Bardsey Island, the 20mtr - 42 ton ex admiralty tender MFV74 had lost all power making it a very long day for the PY Crew! Pwllheli Lifeboat made their way back to Pwllheli and arrived at the entrance at 13:00 where the vessel was towed to the Marina. Wind 3-4 NNE Duration 5hrs
6th 10/06/09 23:23 Both boats where requested to locate a female in the water. The ILB launch first and just as the ALB left the boathouse the casualty was found by the ILB, the ALB was then stood down.
7th 25/06/09 19:05 Whilst on exercise Pwllheli ALB was requested to assist a 35ft yacht with a fouled propellor. The yacht with one person onboard was some 10 miles south of Bardsey Island. After a long tow both boats entered the harbour at 00:30. The vessel was berthed at the marina and the boat was rehoused and ready for service at 01:10. Duration 6hrs wind ENE 2
8th 12/07/09 12:19 Pwllheli ALB was launched to assist a 28ft yacht which had lost its rudder. The 3 persons on board had tried sailing the vessel back to Porthmadog when in rough weather the rudder broke off. The ALB established a tow and bought the boat back to Pwllheli Marina. 9th 10:30 Whilst on exercise Pwllheli ALB noticed a 40ft yacht sheltering in Chapel Bay at St Tudwal Islands. The wind was very strong with gusts on 35 knots and steady wind at 25 knots. The ALB crew asked the singel handed sailor if he was happy at his location. He was happy anchored up but due to the recent forcast he would like to return to Pwllheli and an escort back would be appreciated. 10th 21/08/09 16:55 Both boats launched to locate a missing 5 year old child on Pen y Chain headland. The child was reported missing and a shore line search was requested. The rough conditions made for a very choppy ride especially for the ILB crew. On arrival the at the scene the child was located safe and well on the headland and the boats returned to Pwllheli. 11th 26/08/09 21:48 The ALB was launched to a 40ft fishing vessel with complete engine failure some 25 miles away from Pwllheli, With 3 persons onboards. Another fishing vessel had started to tow the casualty back and the ALB where alongside after 1 1/2hrs. A tow was established and both boats made their way back home. At 02:15 the ALB entered the harbour and berthed the fishing vessel at Pwllheli Marina. The Lifeboat was then recovered and refuelled ready for service. Duration 5hrs Wind 3-4 SW
12th 29/08/09 13:10 Pwllheli ALB was launched to a 28ft sailing vessel with a broken rudder. The yacht with 4 persons on board had lost all steering and was unable to make their way back to Pwllheli. 15th 20/09/09 16:12 As the same time the ILB was needed the ALB was also launched to a separate incident involving a 33ft motor vessel with engine failure 4 miles south of Pwllheli. Due to the very low tide the ALB had to launch of the beach. The vessel was located with 5 persons on board. The vessel was towed back to Pwllheli Marina. Duration 2hrs Wind 2-3 SSW
16th 21/09/09 09:10 Pwllheli ALB was launched to search for a 22ft sailing vessel thought to be off Criccieth. On arrival nothing was seen on radar so the ALB proceeded out to sea. Harlech CG then spotted a vessel off Shell Island so the ALB was requested to go to that location. On arrival it was discovered this was the casulty vessel, a singel handed sailor. He informed the crew he was intending to head to Barmouth but would appreciate an escort in due to the rough conditions. It was then decided to also launch Barmouth ALB to escort the vessel so Pwllheli's ALB could return to station. The sailor entered Barmouth safe and well under the safe escort of Barmouth ALB. Pwllheli ALB returned home and was recovered and re fuelled ready for service. Duration 3hrs Wind 6-7 SSW

3rd 19/04/09 12:41 Pwllheli ILB launched to assits a 30ft yacht which had become entangled in a lobster pot rope. The crew of the ILB freed the rope and the vessel with one person onboard its there way back to Pwllheli. Wind 1-2 S Duration 30min
4th 11/05/09 Whilst on exercise in the relief IB1 the crew noticed a 4 persons in a 18ft speedboat in difficulty in the harbour. The crew went over to assist, on arrival they notice the vessel was very low in the water. The crew boarded the boat to find the inboard engine semi submerged in water an not working. The crew took the casualty vessel back to the slipway and assisted the owner in retriving the boat. It was later discovered the owner had forgoten to put the bung in and this is where the water had come from. Wind 4-5 E Duration 30min

Whithin 1 minute of leaving the harbour and starting their search along the beach the casualty was found at the waters edge. 7th 28/06/09 12:22 Pwllheli ILB was requested to launch to assist one person on a jet ski. The engine had failed and he needed towing back to Pwllheli from Pen Y Chain head. On arrival the ILB set up a tow and bought him back to Pwllheli harbour. Wind 1 ENE Duration 30min
8th 18/07/09 16:10 Pwllheli ILB was launch to two males in a capsized sailing dinghy at Abererch beach. A passing crew member aboard his own vessel saw the two persons in distress and made his way over in his own rib and pulled them from the water. The ILB was on scene within 2 minutes and dealt with the upturned vessel as this could have been a danger to shipping. The two males where taken to the boat house and where treated for cold and exhaustion. Wind 3-4 SSW Duration 30min
9th 19/07/09 15:55 The ILB was requested to launch a female in the water off the Gimblet Rock Pwllheli. By the time the ILB was on scene the casualty had been assisted out of the water by a paramedic who was also called to the incident. She was taken to Hospital and the ILB returned to station Wind 2 S Duration 15min
10th 06/08/09 15:54 Pwllheli ILB was launched to a 18ft speedboat 1/2 mile east of Pwllheli with engine failure. The two persons onboard where safe and sound and the ILB towed the vessel back to Pwllheli. Wind 2-3 SW Duration 30min
11th 21/08/09 16:55 Both boats launched to locate a missing 5 year old child on Pen y Chain headland. The child was reported missing and a shore line search was requested. The rough conditions made for a very choppy ride especially for the ILB crew. On arrival the at the scene the child was located safe and well on the headland and the boats returned to Pwllheli. 12th 25/08/09 18:47 Pwllheli ILB was launched to a 5mtr rib with 4 presons onboard. The vessel had become swamped and was washed up on Abererch beach, 3 of the 4 persons where wet and very cold. Due to the remote location the ILB crew gave 1st aid to 3 of the casualties whilst CG 4x4 could pick them up via land. They where bought back to the lifeboat station where Paramedics checked them over. The owner stayed with the vessel to recover it when the tide turned some 2hrs later. Duration 1hr Wind 2-3 SW
13th 30/08/09 21:33 At the request of Holyhead CG Pwllheli ILB was launched to do a medical evacuation from a vessel on the trots in the Harbour. The casualty had been unwell for some time and contacted the CG for assistance, as it was dark and quite windy the ILB launched and took the lady to an waiting Ambulance. The ILB then returned to assist her husband ashore in his dinghy. Duration 30min Wind 4-5 SSW
14th 20/09/09 16:12 As the same time the ALB was needed the ILB was also launched to a separate incident involving a 17ft speedboat with engine failure 3 miles east off Pwllheli. The vessel and 3 persons onboard was located and towed back to Pwllheli. Duration 1hr Wind 2-3 SW

1st: 09/04/08 The ALB launched to help two persons onboard a 14ft fishing boat with engine failure approximately 1/2 mile east of Llanbedrog. The two persons where taken aboard as the where very cold. The ALB the towed the vessel back to Pwllheli marina. Wind force 1-2 SW Duration 1hr
2nd 26/05/08 Both boats launched to a report from Holyhead CG that a alert had been made on a DSC VHF. The ALB was requested to search the Pwllheli Bay area whilst the ILB searched the boats in the harbour. Approximately 30min into the search the cause of the alert had been traced back and both boats where stood down. Wind force 4-5 NE Duration 1hr
3rd 05/07/08 Both boats launched to a missing person off Black rock sands. The casualty had entered the sea and had not been seen for some time. Criccieth Lifeboat along with Rescue 122 Helicopter where also tasked. On their arrival at the scene Criccieth Lifeboat located the casualty and took him back to shore where an ambulance was waiting. He was thought to be well but suffering from cold. Duration 30min. Wind SW 4-5
4th 24/07/08 ALB launched to a single handed sailor who had engine failure on his 27ft yacht. The vessel was located 2 miles south of Bardsey where the ALB put one crew member on board to assist the sailor who was very tiered. The ALB the towed the vessel back to Pwllheli Marina. 5th 05/08/08 ALB launched to a 1 person aboard his powerboat in need of assistance. The boat had been washed up on Hells Mouth beach some 10 Miles away from the station. In quite rough and 6ft swell the ALB secured a tow and pulled the vessel off the beach. This person had also had the assistance of Porthdinllean and Abersoch Lifeboats the day before! The ILB towed the vessel to Pwllheli. Duration 5hrs Wind SW 5-6
6th 08/08/08 ALB launched to a 1 person aboard his yacht with engine failure in need of assistance. The gentelman had been assisted by Porthdinllean Lifeboat who towed the yacht through Bardsey Sound. Pwllheli Lifeboat took over the tow the bought the boat back to Pwllheli. Duration 4hrs Wind 2-3 W
7th 22/08/08 ALB launched to a 2 persons aboard their yacht with engine failure and also taking on water in need of assistance. The farther and daughter had been assisted by Porthdinllean Lifeboat and Rescue 122 who towed the yacht through Bardsey Sound. Pwllheli Lifeboat took over the tow the bought the boat back to Pwllheli where she was lifted out of the water. Duration 4hrs Wind 2-3 NW
8th 06/09/08 Whilst prepairing for an exercise the ALB was requested to launch to take over a tow from Newquay Lifeboat. A 37 ft yacht with 3 people on board suffered engine failure and winds where to strong to sail. The ALB battled for 2hrs in force 8 winds for 25 miles to reach the casualty. Once alongside Pwllheli ALB took over the towing duties from Newquay lifeboat which then returned to station. Due to the high winds and low tides at other harbours the decision was made to tow the vessel back to Pwllheli as it was the only safe haven. After 6hrs towing the ALB entered Pwllheli harbour and took the very tiered crew to the marina. A also very tiered and hungry ALB crew then returned to station. Duration 8hrs 8-9 NNE
9th 10/10/08 Pwllheli ALB was launch to take over towing duties from Porthdinllean Lifeboat. The vessel was located some 25 miles south west of Bardsey Island. After a long tow for Porthdinllean LB, some 10hrs, the Pwllheli ALB met them by St Tudwals Islands and in the shelter transferred the tow. Porthdinllean then returned home. Within 2hrs the ALB and fishing vessel where at the entrance of Pwllheli but due to the rough seas and very restricted maneuverability of the 45 ton trawler entering the harbour would be difficult. On entering in a 3mtr swell both boats touched causing some minor damage to the ALB. The trawler however was successfully towed into Pwllheli Marina and the ALB returned to station. 10th 27/10/08 The ALB was launched to a 35ft charter vessel with 7 persons onboard. The vessel was some 1/2 south of Bardsey Island and had suffered engine failure and needed assistance. The ALB was along side within 50 min and a tow was set up. Some 2hrs later both boats entered the harbour where the casualty was put on a berth at Pwllheli Marina. All occupants where safe and well. 11th 29/10/08 Pwllheli ALB was requested to launch at assist the 18mtr fishing vessel "Euroclydon". The 110 ton fishing boat hit the break water at the entrance of the harbour suffering loss of steering. As the ALB launched the skipper managed to clear the wall and was making his way down the harbour but with restricted manoeuvrability the ALB launch and stood by to assist if needed. The fishing vessel finally came alongside and secured up. The ALB then returned to station. Duration 30min Wind WSW 7-8

1st: 25/05/08 The ILB launched to 1 person onboard a Jet Ski which had broken down in the harbour. The ILB took the casualty aboard and towed the Ski back to the Lifeboat slipway. Wind 5-6 NE Duration 20min

6th 26/08/08 ILB launched to a jet ski adrift. The owner had been assisted by another vessel by the time the ILB had launched. The crew then towed the Jet ski back to Pwllheli. Wind S 2-3 Duration 30min
7th 28/08/08 ILB launched to a 26ft speedboat with engine failure. The vessel and occupants some 1/2 south of Pwllheli was towed in to Pwllheli Marina. Wind SW 2-3 Duration 1hr
8th 29/08/08 ILB Launched to a vessel on fire in Pwllheli Harbour. There where two persons on board and needed urgent assistance. The casualty's had jumped into their dinghy but due to the low tide could not get clear of the burning boat. The ILB and great risk passed a rope to the casualty's and pulled them clear from the burning boat. The husband and wife where taken to the Station for medical treatment where the Air Ambulance was requested to take the gentelman to Bangor Hospital for treatment to burns on the hands and face. His wife was also taken to Bangor by road ambulance for smoke inhalation. Fire crews where taken to the vessel where atemts to put out the fire where made, the vessel later sank due to the damage. 9th 13/09/08 ILB Launched to a 26ft motor vessel with engine failure. The where two persons on board and the vessel was located some 2 miles south of Pwllheli. The ILB crew secured a tow and within 30 minutes the vessel and her crew where back safe and well in Pwllheli Marina. Wind SW 2-3 Duration 1hr

1st: 11/01/07 At 17:25 Both boats launched with Abersoch Lifeboat and Rescue 122 Helicopter to investigate multipul reports of a red flare. A 2hr search was carried out with ALB going to the Causeway some 12 miles from Pwllheli and the ILB and Abersoch Lifeboat conducted a shore line search from Pwllheli to Abersoch. Both boats then search the St Tudwals islands and half tide rock. It was decided to call off the search at 19:25. Wind Force 4-5 S Duration 3hr
2nd: 31/03/07 At 11:15 the ALB was launched to assist a 14ft speedboat with engine failure. The boat and it's three occupants where towed from Llangbedrog back to Pwllheli where the boat was retrived onto it's trailer. Wind force 2-3 ENE Duration 1hr
3rd: 08/04/07 At 15:02 The ALB was paged and put on immediate readiness for reports of and EPIRB. On arrival the crew made the boat ready for launching but Holyhead Coast Guard decided it was a false alarm and the launch was stood down.
4th: 15/04/07 At 13:48 The ALB was launched to locate a vessel and 5 persons onboard lost in fog. The vessel was thought to be close to shore and had no means of finding their way back to Pwllheli. Wind Force 2 SSW Duration 1hr
5th: 28/04/07 The ALB was launched at 14:04 to assist a 43ft Cruiser with 1 person on board that had a suspected engine fire. The ALB was alongside and crew boarded the vessel to inspect. It was found one engine had overheated and cause considerable smoke in the engine room. The ALB towed the vessel back to Pwllheli and berthed her in the Marina. Wind Force 2 SSE Duration 2hrs
6th: 29/04/07 ALB launched 15:17 to a 25ft sailing boat with 2 persons on board with engine failure. The wind had dropped and they where unable to make for home and being 6 miles out it was decided the Lifeboat towed the yacht back to Pwllheli Marina Wind Force 0-1 S Duration 2 hrs
7th: 28/08/07: Boat paged but stood down before launching
8th: 30/08/07 Pwllheli ALB along with Abersoch and Criccieth Lifeboats and four coastguard units where tasked to locate a 20ft powerboat lost in poor visability. If was first thought the casualty was heading to Abersoch but when found by Criccieth Lifeboat it was some 8 miles south off Pen-Y-Chain head, approximately 12 miles away where their destination. Criccieth Lifeboat escorted him to 4 miles east of Pwllheli where the ALB took over and escorted him back to Pwllheli. Wind NNW Force 3-4 Duration 3hrs
9th: 31/08/07 Both Boats launched to assist 2 Persons onboard a yacht grounded on the breakwater at the entrance of the harbour. With a falling tide it was decided to tow the vessel clear as she would have fallen over and possibly blocked the entrance stopping any other vessels from entering. A crew member was put on the vessel and both persons on board taken off due to a possible risk of injury. The boat was towed clear and then lifted out of the water to inspect for damage. 10th: 06/10/07 Whilst on exercise the ALB was flagged down by a 26ft powerboat by St Tudwals islands. On inspection the boat had suffered engine failure and the owner asked for a tow back to Pwllheli. Approximately 15 minutes into the tow the Lifeboat crew member onboard the casualty vessel managed to repair the engine and the casualty made her own way home. The ALB the continued on it's exercise. 11th: 29/12/07 At 14:07 Pwllheli ALB along with Abersoch Lifeboat where launched to search for a missing Kite Surfer lost in Porth Ceriad. The surfer was located before launching the ALB so the crew where stood down. Wind SSW 7-8

3rd: 28/04/07 At 17:02 the ILB was launched to a small vessel 1/2 mile south of Gimblet Rock. The persons on board had been seen waving by a member of public. On arrival it was discovered the boat was in need of assistance but by this time the owner had managed to re start the boat. The ILB escorted the 21 ft boat back to the Marina Wind Force 2 SSE Duration 30 min
4th: 05/06/07 The ILB was lunched at 13:42 to assist two presons in a small inflatable dinghy been blown out to sea. The two occupants where found and escorted back to the beach safe and well. Wind Force 1-2 NNE Duration 30min
5th: 14/07/07 ILB launched at 18:03 to assist 1 windsurfer in distress half a mile south of the Gimblet Rock Pwllheli. 2 Persons onboard a jet ski had also seen the windsurfer and went to assist him, the ILB escorted them back to shore. Wind Force 2-3 S Duration 30min
6th: 03/08/07 ILB launched at 14:20 to assist 1 windsurfer in distress quater of a mile east of the Harbour entrance Pwllheli. The ILB located the casualty and escorted him back to shore. Wind Force 4-5 S Duration 30min
7th: 23/08/07 The first call for Pwllheli Lifeboat's new IB1 to escort a sailing vessel taking on water. Abersoch Lifeboat had launched first and assisted the casulty in Cilan some 7 miles from Pwllheli. The vessel was escorted to Pwllheli by Abersoch Lifeboat where Pwllheli ILB met up to allow Abersoch to retun to station. Wind force 1-2 N Duration 30 Min

9th: 30/09/07 Pwllheli ILB along with Criccieth Lifeboat were launched to search for a missing person thought to be in the area of Pen Y Chain headland. Also present were several mobile Coastguard units and later Rescue 122 Helicopter was tasked to search. After 2 hours it was decided to call off the sea search and move inland. The casulty was found later by the Coastguard inland. Wind ESE 2-3 Duration 2 hrs
10th: 18/10/07 07:24 ILB launched to assist a 30ft yacht grounded on the harbour entrance with two persons on board. The yacht was hard aground but the ILB crew managed to tow her clear as the tide was falling fast, without the assistance of the ILB the yacht would have fallen over and sank on the next incoming tide. Wind NNE 2-3 Duration 1 hr
11th: 28/12/07 21:45 The ILB was launched to investigate a white flashing light alongside a boat in the harbour. The coastguard and 1st informant thought it could be from a lifejacket. On inspection, a safety light aboard the yacht had fallen into the water due to the high winds making it look like someone could have been in distress. The ILB crew made sure no persons where onboard and returned to station. Wind SSW 7-8 Duration 20min.

1st: 13/02/06 Paged at 10:02pm to search for 1 male. The ALB searched the outer harbour while the D Class searched the inner harbour. Stood down after 45 min as person was found safe and well by the Police. Wind Force 4-6 S. Duration 45min
2nd: 23/04/06 Both boats launch. At 9:19pm Holyhead Coastguard requested the ALB to assist two vessels on passage from Porthdinllean to Pwllheli. On arrival the ALB towed one vessel which had a considerable amount of water onboard whilst the other made their own way to Pwllheli. The casualty latter informed the ALB that they too where taking in water. It was then decided to launch the ILB to assist the other vessel. Wind Force 2-3 NW Duration 4hr 30min. 5 Persons on board
3rd: 16/05/06 Launched at 7:50pm to assist a 38ft yacht with two persons on board. The vessel had suffered engine failure a was making no headway into the tide 4 miles north of Bardey island. The vessel was towed back to Pwllheli Marina. Wind Force 3-4 S Duration 8hrs.
4th: 3/06/06 Both boats launched at 1:47am to assist two boats grounded on the sea wall at Pwllheli harbour entrance. The larger for the two vessels with 2 adults and 4 children on board was successfully towed off the wall by the ALB but the smaller boat was grounded to hard and to prevent any further damage was left until a higher tide to re float her off. The ILB recovered the one occupant onboard and returned him to Pwllheli Marina. Force 0 N Duration 1hr. 6 Children and 3 Adults in total
5th: 12/07/06 Launched at 9:02pm to assist a yacht which had picked up a large amount of rope and was unable to make way. The 32ft boat was approximately 6 miles south of the station. The ALB passed a tow and the vessel was bought back to Pwllheli Marina. Wind Force 3 N Duration 2hrs
6th: 22/08/06 Launched at 10:26pm to assist a 31ft yacht grounded on the Harbour entrance of Pwllheli. The fin keel yacht with 2 adults on board was too high out of the water and it was decided not to attempt to tow her free as this would have caused significant damage. Some of the crew then went back to the yacht by land and placed large buoys along her side to try and prevent any further damage. The Yacht was refloated at the next high tide. Wind Force 2 N Duration 1hr
7th: 30/08/06 At 14:25 Both boats launched to assist a powerboat with 2 adults and 5 children on board 200 yards of Pen Y Chain beach. The boat had broken down and was dragging it's anchor and drifting ashore. The ILB launch followed by the ALB 2 minutes later. On arrival the father was in the water holding the boat in the surf and the mother and children had abandoned the vessel and swam ashore. The ALB towed the vessel free from the surf whilst the ILB stood by. Cricieth Coastguard was on scene 5 minutes later to collect the family as it was to dangerous to transfer them onto the ILB due to the large surf. 8th: 02/09/06 At 10:44am Both boats launched to a major rescue in gale force winds. 14 SB3 Laser sailing dinghies on passage from Abersoch to Pwllheli were rescued/helped by the ALB and ILB, Marina launch, Harbour Master and two Ribs. Due to the high winds they were unable to enter the harbour 3 had already been blown onto the sea wall, 2 of which were towed off by the Marina launch and the third by the ILB. Once the first casulty was safe the ILB went back out on 5 other occasions each time towing another SB3 in. The ALB stood by making sure nobody else got into trouble and once all boats were safe in the harbour the ALB was then tasked to assist Abersoch Lifeboat as their search for any other SB3's off Llanbedrog. A search was made but nothing else was found so both boats returned to stations. This is the largest rescue Pwllheli Lifeboat has ever made and our thanks to everybody else who helped to prevent what could have been a major catastrophy. In all 17 boats and 50 people where helped. 9th: 20/09/06 At 10:25am Both boats launched to assist 1 male on board a 18ft Sailing boat. He had got into difficulties when trying to sail to Pwllheli from Abersoch in a Force 5-6 Southerly wind , he was suffering from heart problems. He took shelter in Llanbedrog bay but started to drift onto the shore. The ILB transfered a crew member from the ALB to the casualty and a tow was established. In only 6ft of water at times the boat was towed to a mooring and secured for the night. The owner was then taken to Llanbedrog beach and awaiting Coast Guard. The ILB and ALB then had quite a bumpy ride back to Pwllheli. Wind Force 5-6 S duration 2 hours

1st: 28/01/06 Called to assist a vessel with engine failure at the entrance of Pwllheli. The boat and 1 person on board where towed by the ILB back to it's trailer on the harbour Master's slipway. Wind Force 1 NE. Duration 15min.
2nd: 13/02/06 Paged at 10:02pm to search for 1 male. Searched inner harbour while the ALB searched the outer harbour. Stood down after 45 min as person was found safe and well by the Police. Wind Force 4-6 S. Duration 45min
3rd: 1/04/06 Launched at 10:52pm to search for 3 persons adrift in Pwllheli harbour. The casualty's where found in their dinghy clinging to a yacht moored in the Harbour only 400 yards from the open sea. They where towed back to their main vessel and the ILB returned to station. Wind Force 5-6 SW. Duration 30min.
4th: 18/04/06 Launched at 5:04 pm to tow a vessel that had broken down and was in danger of being broken up on Abererch Beach. The two occupants were in the water trying to prevent the boat from being damaged. The vessel and occupants were towed safely back to Pwllheli Marina. Wind Force 2-3 SW. Duration 1hr. 2 Persons on board
5th: 24/04/06 Both Boats Launch. At 12:34am the ILB was asked to assist a vessel which was taking on water. A crew member was put on board the casualty vessel, the D Class then meet up with the ALB and collected the emergency pump. The casualty vessel made it's way to Pwllheli and was beached to prevent it from sinking. The ALB towed the second vessel to the same area also to prevent that boat from sinking. She had suffered a nasty injury to the eye so the crew administered first aid and the casualty was transferred into the ILB and taken to the waiting Ambulance. Force 0 N Duration 30min
8th: 1/07/06 Launched at 8:32pm to investigate a dinghy drifting 1/2 a mile south of the West End Pwllheli. The dinghy was found to be unmanned and had probably drifted off the beach. The ILB towed the dinghy back to Pwllheli. Force 0 N Duration 1hr.
9th 2/07/06: The ILB launched at 12:35pm to assist a vessel taking on water in Pwllheli harbour. The crew helped pump out the water and the vessel was then lifted out of the water. Force 0 N Duration 30min.
10th 15/07/06: Launched at 8:04pm to assist a 24ft powerboat with engine failure. The boat and the 5 occupants where towed back to Pwllheli Marina. Force 0 Duration 1hr
11th 07/08/06: Launched at 8:15pm to assist a 31ft Yacht aground on the breakwater at the entrance of Pwllheli harbour. The boat with 2 persons on board was towed free from the rocks and escorted back to Pwllheli Marina. Force 4 NE Duration 45min
12th 28/08/06: At 11:56am the ILB launched to a 17ft Fletcher speedboat who had given out a Pan Pan. The boat had suffered engine failure 1 mile south of Pwllheli. The boat and it's occupants were towed back to Pwllheli. Force 4 WNW Duration 1hr.
13th: 30/08/06 At 14:45 both boats launched to assist a powerboat with 2 adults and 5 children on board 200 yards of Pen Y Chain beach. The boat had broken down and was dragging it's anchor and drifting ashore. The ILB launch followed by the ALB 2 minutes later. On arrival the father was in the water holding the boat in the surf and the mother and children had abandoned the vessel and swam ashore. The ALB towed the vessel free from the surf whilst the ILB stood by. Cricieth Coastguard was on scene 5 minutes later to collect the family as it was to dangerous to transfer them onto the ILB due to the large surf. The boat was towed back to Pwllheli and lifted out. The ILB can just be seen in the surf with the casualty's on shore. Wind Force 5 SW Duration 1hr
14th: 02/09/06 At 10:45am Both boats launched to a major rescue in gale force winds. 14 SB3 Laser sailing dinghies on passage from Abersoch to Pwllheli were rescued/helped by the ALB and ILB, Marina launch, Harbour Master and two Ribs. Due to the high winds they were unable to enter the harbour 3 had already been blown onto the sea wall, 2 of which were towed off by the Marina launch and the third by the ILB. Once the first casulty was safe the ILB went back out on 5 other occasions each time towing another SB3 in. The ALB stood by making sure nobody else got into trouble and once all boats were safe in the harbour the ALB was then tasked to assist Abersoch Lifeboat as their search for any other SB3's off Llanbedrog. A search was made but nothing else was found so both boats returned to stations. This is the largest rescue Pwllheli Lifeboat has ever made and our thanks to everybody else who helped to prevent what could have been a major catastrophy. In all 17 boats and 50 people where helped. 15th: 09/09/06 At 09:25 the ILB launched to assist two persons on board a 17ft Leisure sailing boat. The boat got into difficulties 1 mile south of Pwllheli with engine failure. The ILB secured a tow and bought it back to the Marina. Duration 45 min Wind Force 3-4 SE
16th: 20/09/06 Both boats launched to assist 1 male on board a 18ft Sailing boat. He had got into diffculties when trying to sail to Pwllheli from Abersoch in a Force 5-6 Southerly wind, he was suffering from heart problems. He took shelter in Llanbedrog bay but started to drift onto the shore. The ILB transfered a crew member from the ALB to the casualty and a tow was established. In only 6ft of water at times the boat was towed to a mooring and secured for the night. The owner was then taken to Llanbedrog beach and awaiting Coast Guard. The ILB and ALB then had quite a bumpy ride back to Pwllheli. Wind Force 5-6 S duration 2 hours
17th: 02/12/06 At 15:07 the ILB was launched to two persons and a dog aboard a yacht in the inner harbour. The strong gale force winds would have made it difficult for the casualty's to make it to land. They where taken to the boathouse safe and well. Duration 30min Wind Force 8-9 SW
18th: 08/12/06 Launched at 16:15 to assist a 24ft fishing vessel with engine failure. The boat and one person on board was towed from Pen Y Chain head back to Pwllheli harbour. Wind Force 3 WNW duration 1hr 30min

6th: 13/08/05 at 08:42 Unmanned Sailing dinghy capsized and drifting off West End Pwllheli, unsure of persons in the water. Boat had drifted off Abersoch beach. It was towed back to Pwllheli. Wind Force 4-5 SW. Duration 1hr 10min
7th: 13/08/05 at 17:15 Kite surfer blown out to sea needed help. Found safe and well. The ILB was at the Marina on it's open day and had to launch from an alternative site. Wind Force 2 NW. Duration 30min
8th: 17/08/05 at 18:20 Diverted off exercise to teenager stuck in quick sand sea around his thighs and tide coming in. Pulled out and take to hospital. Wind Force 0-1 S. Duration 30min
9th: 11/09/05 at 17:40 Thought to be a windsurfer in distress. Turned out to be a lobster pot flag. Wind Force 0-1 N. Duration 10min
10th: 11/09/05: Second call of the day at 17:50 Returning from previous service ILB crew noticed a broken down powerboat drifting towards rocks in need of help at the entrance of Pwllheli harbour 1 Adult, 1 Teen and 1 Child on board the vessel was towed to Pwllheli. Wind Force 0-1 N Duration 30min
